Mighty castles and ruins sit atop rock faces and hills, high above the winegrowing towns and villages of the Weinviertel. Burg Kreuzenstein castle, a familiar sight from film and television, is often in demand as a location for international productions. It is always worth a visit, as is its counterpart Burg Falkenstein.

Highlights include Schloss Wilfersdorf, which is owned by the Liechtenstein family, as well as nearby Schloss Wolkersdorf.
