Weinvierteldraisine Ernstbrunn - Asparn
Old-time train / special train
Description
Take your draisine through the Leiser Berge country park – the first draisine track in Lower Austria!
Cycle on a draisine through the stunning landscape of Leiser Berge country park on the disused railway line between Ernstbrunn and Asparn an der Zaya.
The roughly 12-km track passes beautiful meadows and fields, runs over gently rolling hills and through shady woods.
- Day trip:
Begin the morning with a ride from Ernstbrunn to the Draisinenalm Grafensulz rest stop. The track then sharply descends to Asparn Railway Station. Relax and re-energise yourself under the tall chestnut trees until you are ready to take the return trip. In the afternoon, parents and children can travel back to Ernstbrunn on the draisine.
- Half-day trip:
Morning trip
Families ride the draisine from Ernstbrunn to Asparn in the morning. The MAMUZ museum is worth a visit there. Return to Ernstbrunn: On Saturdays, take the country park bus from the Asparn station or the taxi shuttle which runs every day.
Afternoon trip
In the afternoon, you have the option to either pedal from Asparn to Draisinenalm, take a relaxing break at this point and then up your speed to roll back to Asparn – or continue to Ernstbrunn from Draisinenalm.
Special offers for groups and now also for school and youth groups available!
The draisines in Leiser Berge country park hold four people. Up to three draisines can be linked together to allow 12 people to travel together. Children can be secured in the middle seats with seat belts, a Maxi Cosi car seat can be used for babies that can be attached to the draisine.
If you would like to travel at a slower pace, you also have the option to comfortably travel uphill from Asparn to Grafensulz by switching to the rail taxi and continue downhill to Ernstbrunn or roll back to Asparn with plenty of speed along the almost 5-km decline.
There are many other visitor destinations close by, which you can visit before or after your draisine experience: Leiser Berge train (ideal for outward journeys on Saturdays), Zayatal rail cab, MAMUZ castle in Asparn (5 minutes from the railway station), Ernstbrunn Wildlife Park, Michelstetten school museum, walk around Buschberg, plus much more.
Families should expect the car journey to take 30 minutes from Vienna to Weinvierteldraisine.
