Stillfried-Zentrum der Urzeit

For almost 30 000 years People have been living Stillfried, thus archaeologists have been doing Research here for more than 150 years. Palaeolithic mammoth hunters, neolithic farmers as well as bronze Age Traders and Smiths have left traces behind.

Seeds from cultivated Grapes dating back to the 9th century BC are the oldest in Austria. Around 800 BC raparts protected the Settlement along the amber route.
